For a Friend

I wrote this poem in class for a close friend of mine:

The summer breeze, gentle and warm

Swirls together with each drawn thought

Stumbling waves expel

Salty, sweet and moist breaths

Sweat bridges skin to the dry air

Dozing in and out of reality

Dreams are forged, built to be steady

The farthest goal now rests in your palm.

Bring forth the change; escape the natural

Pain

Relax now; find your peace in this world’s

Decay

Isolated to its own lost and condemned island,

Fear

Loses the hold and stake over your smile

Face each day like this; count your blessings

Strive for the reality, the future, the Truth

That Summer Breeze often brings about.
